Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was admitted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she studied the flute piano as well as the harpsichord for three consecutive years. She survived on a student allowance and worked part-time to supplement her budget. In the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance in comparison to her fellow students and she pondered what alternative route she could take. Lennox started out as musician in the band Dragons Playground. However, she left shortly before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent show. She was The singer for The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later form Eurythmics. After that, Lennox started working on her solo first album Diva that was released in 1992.
